Kitsilano House Lift & Full Structural Reconstruction
Located in Vancouver’s prestigious Kitsilano neighbourhood, this project involved the complete transformation of an existing character home through a comprehensive house lift, new foundation construction, and full structural rebuild.
The project began with extensive interior and exterior demolition, reducing the home to its original structural shell. The existing house was then carefully lifted to allow for the construction of a new foundation and lower level designed to meet current building codes and engineering requirements.
Once the foundation was complete, Crana Construction undertook a full structural re-frame of the residence, modernizing the home while preserving its original character. The scope included new floor systems, structural upgrades, exterior envelope improvements, and the integration of modern building standards throughout the property.
Careful planning, engineering coordination, and precise execution were critical to the success of this complex project. The result is a fully transformed residence that combines the charm of a classic Kitsilano home with the performance, functionality, and longevity of modern construction.
This project showcases Crana Construction’s expertise in house lifts, structural renovations, and large-scale residential transformations throughout Vancouver.
Kitsilano House Lift
Sub Contractor

Crana Construction was commissioned for a basement renovation and some exterior stair work. John and Michael were professional and assisted with both creative solutions that met the budget and timeline. We had a surprise mold issue when walls were opened up and John brought to my attention right away and worked with me on options to fix it. They brought in his team of subs that were equally detailed and professional, Paul, Mack, and Dave. Thanks to Paul, stairs were finished even in the midst of pouring rain. Professional, collaborative and honest I would highly recommend them for any future renovations.
